I… do not see how anyone could make it through this without dying once. And… I don’t see why this is the highly recommended game of the latest two. But maybe it’s a matter of tastes?

The platforming felt like playing Sexy Hiking, except the arms are paralyzed pointing down at an angle. The pixel perfect collision detection resulted in a lot of weird clipping situations and becoming stuck and… I just had an extremely unpleasant experience with this.

Maybe I need to know more about the Johnny series by Sparlatacus to appreciate this more? I’ve no idea.

    • I don’t always tag a post as Highly Recommended right away – I really like Foam, but I’m busy with 7dfps and haven’t played much of it yet. I may very well go back and tag it as Highly Recommended tomorrow when I get a chance to play it properly πŸ™‚

    • what fascinated the author about the johnny series (enough to make a fan game of it) is that the glitchiness / laziness of the games actually results in some really neat movement – like because of johnny’s long nose and precise collision checking you can actually use his nose as a lever to climb up with. so a lot like sexy hiking, yeah.

      • Oh, see, that would’ve been neat to learn about. It’s too bad this is one of the few games that appear to lack a link when mousing over [Author’s Description] or the like, so I have no surefire way of knowing where it came from other than scouring search results meticulously.

  2. This is a classic!

The author’s moniker should be spelled ‘cly5m’ (or ‘clysm’).
