This is much more clever than it at first appears. Great find!
(…though it’s almost ruined by some buggy collision detection, most significantly in the level that starts you in a deep pit. It’s easy to have the thrown block stick inside the wall or to have your little character stuck inside the thrown block, in which case one might give up without realizing the intended behavior. Luckily the R key restarts the screen and the depth of the pit is a good tip-off that you must be missing something about the game rules.)
