Oh, curious. I probably wouldn’t have noticed the Flash was wrapped in Twine code had you not pointed it out. Is the Twine code on the page actually doing anything (other than hiding itself)?
There’s only 3 Twine passages: a style-sheet that only hides the sidebar, a StoryTitle that only reads “The Furnace,” and a Start passage that only displays the Flash.
There’s always a chance that the engine itself is modified in some mysterious way, but I doubt it. We’ll never know, I guess.
Hey peoples. I do some screen scaling in Flashpunk that changes the window dimensions if the swf is not embedded. Twine is just an easy way for me to embed into an html page.
I knew it was something like that. It’s just that from an outside perspective, simply putting the embed code in a plain text editor and saving the HTML seems much less convoluted than using Twine. But I guess everybody has their ways. Thanks for clearing that up, and for making this cool game.
haha, yeah I’m sure it is. The truth is I have been coding for less than a year and I had no idea it was as simple as that to build an html file. Thanks for the info!
This is so far up my alley, love the music, the style.
I really wonder about the possibilities of using Flash & Twine at once. Is it possible to pass information back to Twine or the browser, ie: take a specific path based on actions in each flash game?
I don’t understand why would someone use Twine for this, but no matter. Beautiful game!

In any case, this is really great!
Curious indeed.

i remember there being a technical reason for it that he told me on twitter
How do you view the Twine file?

Beautiful. A poem in pixels, Flashpunk, and Twine. And the music is awesome (and done by the dev). Leisz made another one of these a little while ago.
This is cool too, really like the mismatched animations.

Wow, this was really cool! Really cool that my first instinct was to run from the end at first.
I really really like this. It inspired me and help me solve a problem I was having with what way to display text in my game.
