Alpaca Run (Samantha Allen, Joseph Culp, Guy Conn, Cameron Kunzelman)

Notably, there isn’t a fail state in Alpaca Run. I want everyone to complete it. I want everyone to have a fun journey and to get to listen to a cool song without failing over and over again.[Author’s description]

  1. This is a lovely game. I had a blast hopping around (the jump has a really nice springy feel) and listening to that rockin’ tune which reminded me, delightfuly, of both the Unicorns and TMBG. Don’t know if it was intentional, but I found myself tring to bounce to the beat to clear the obstacles successfully.

The lack of a fail state is super appropriate here, as is the one-button control scheme. I dig how accessible this is ^^

  2. This is so beautiful, it really is.

  3. Main part got a bit samey, but I liked the ending 🙂

  4. Hey friends, I wrote and performed the music for this game. Glad you enjoyed it and it’s flattering to be compared to TMBG and the Unicorns.

And prunescholar, I think that Cameron, who designed the game, wanted to leave an option in there that would allow dedicated players to track their progress/improvement as they work toward a “perfect alpaca run.”

  5. You could challenge yourself this game if you wanted to but really it’s just fun

I loved the song and hopping around collecting apples as Ingrid the alpaca

  6. The song is great. And stuck in my head 🙂

  7. I got my mother in law to play it.

“It would be better if the alpaca moved slower”

    “I only died 70 times?”

On being told that the level has to move at a fixed speed otherwise it wouldn’t match up with the song: “Oh… I had the sound turned off. Let me play that again.”

“I didn’t get all the apples and I died 57 times, but it still said I did it. Now I’m forced to wonder… what did I really do?”

“I think the backgrounds should be happier”

“That positive reinforcement at the end made me feel good about having died 57 times.”

  8. Cool game with really positive intentions that you want to get behind.

  9. Love the tune. Got the message: Alpacas should run the world.

  10. I’m really inspired together with your writing talents
and also with the format to your blog. Is that this a paid
theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the
excellent high quality writing, it’s rare to
