I spent a full year working on it, but it never really found an audience. I still think it’s pretty cool, so I updated it and am releasing it as freeware so that more people will have a chance to play it. – [Author’s description]

This is brilliant! I love it! I like the time/lives mechanic a lot.
the collision on the frogger clones felt a little off, but other than that I really enjoyed this! the virus levels were cool and smart, and the final game was really funny!
Yeah, this is great. There are so many smart little touches in how it reimagines the classics, and it’s really satisfying — especially during each arcade’s final level — how half the challenge is figuring out how to play each game-mode as quickly as possible.
(The one thing that makes me a bit uncomfortable, however, is that it seems the only woman in the whole game is the “annoying” voice during the final levels who keeps putting her hand in front of the screen? I get that it’s a period piece, but I’m not sure that excuses it entirely. Just adding an additional annoying man during those levels might be enough to soften that complaint a bit.)
Oh, and AVG tagged the executable as an identity-protection threat, but virustotal.com came up with an entirely clean scan report, so I imagine it’s just the leaderboard code?
Very cool. I really enjoyed this.
I picked this up when it was “free for one weekend” a couple of years ago, and it’s still one of my very favorites. I also grabbed the music files from the game and put them in my “programming” playlist. There’s a whole host of secrets to unlock, and the final arcade games in the three scenarios are very challenging. I hope more people try this out because it deserves way more attention, and more people deserve to have as much fun with it as I have.
