Is there a way to jump/flip or press spacebar without dying?
It’s a bit more Skate than Hawk, but yeah it can be done. Mostly.
The moment you’re in the air the arrow keys become rotate rather than turn/momentum. It’s tricky but after a few “level ups” it gets easier

This is actually amazing. I had a lot of fun with it, and you captured some of the best feelings from Tony Hawk excellently. It’s really satisfying to land successfully while facing backwards on an elevated platform.
