Comment from their 7drl blog post

"There are a few things to keep in mind that we don’t explain in detail: after you crash but being saved from a hook, you get a one turn penalty thus making it important where you hook yourself, otherwise the goats just get you the second time ;).
Also if you climb on 0-Tiles you get an extra move, meaning every time you traverse onto a 0 tile the enemies won’t move. This is very important to plan you way ahead and use it to “out-climb” your foes."

Made it to the top!

My biggest problem at first was it took me too long to figure out I could push goats into oblivion the same way they pushed me. I guess it's so common in roguelikes, they just expect you to know.

I thought the health reduction every turn was random, only during the final fade-out it suddenly occurred to me that's what the numbered tiles meant.

The sound design seems excellent. It made me relax in a Starseed Pilgrim-y way without neglecting the frustration factor.

Joe: I can't discern your exact problem with the game, but I found the opposite true when I played it -- it was really easy.

There might be something wrong with you unfortunately :(

Is there a trick that will actually result in getting further than halfway up the screen or is it, once again, totally random and unbeatable. Getting tired of these games that take not thought of the player. Random is fine if there's some degree of midigation possible.
