Recontextualizing the father as violent works well to explain why the son isn’t actively trying to find him, but blaming it all on mental illness and ending with a link to the bloody wikipedia page on Schizophrenia doesn’t give me much confidence in the developers’ understanding of mental health issues.
Yeah, the ending’s kind of random. Failure feels random too, when you walk in four directions but sound only works in two. Startling is what this game does best, and I guess that’s enough.
