The humor in this game caught me off guard. Asking the people outside the Union Pacific of fried beans, from the first lady you get “I love me some fried beans. Yes sir-ee” fair enough. Second guy: “Sure as the sun will eat the world I’ve eaten friend beany weens.” LOL I see this is turning into a ridiculous caricature. Third guy? “I like fried beans.”

Jack King-Spooner is a genre unto himself. Here he mashes up Buddhism, cowboy tropes, the blues, and RPG conventions. The music is exceptional. The ending is sublime.

For all the killing and dying in that goes on in games, it’s so rare to see a work that’s truly, uncompromisingly about death. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
