  1. Love this one.

    Some help:
    – There’s a bottle of Sake hidden in each level. If you find it and take it to the end, you get an extra life. In level one it’s on the water (which you can walk on if you stop time).
    – You can hang down off walls by pressing down at edges. You’ll need to do this by level four otherwise you’ll die from falling too far.

    • - This is tricky – in level 7 you can stop time while you’re putting a block down, which causes the block to hover in midair, allowing you to progress.

  2. Oh, my, this is tricky but fascinating. I love that the rationale for limiting the length of your time-freezing ability appears to be running out of breath (I’m gathering this from the sound effect it plays when you restart time with little room to spare).

I’m finding the controls hard to get used to, which is surprising. I do think the game might be improved by allowing the up arrow to also jump or by remapping the whole thing to something like Z, X, and shift. Obviously that’s mostly about years of convention turning into muscle memory.

Also there’s something basic I’m not understanding: is there a particular strategy for hitting the enemies that shoot back at you? It seems like even when it’s not shooting back only some of your shots actually make contact. Is the conceit that he’s deflecting them? I’ve been just hitting the shoot button repeatedly until eventually making contact enough times, but that’s more tedious than I imagine is intended.

[Note: to get this to launch I had to rename the executable to avoid the Japanese characters. Before doing so it wasn't even showing up as an entry in Task Manager/Process Explorer after double-clicking.]

  3. Couldn’t get past the menu

  4. Does anyone know if there is a run key? I’ve played most of Ikiki’s games and for the most part they are faster paced than this. And by the way, ctrl-y to change you key setup. Click the bottom and left most block to set your keyboard, the others for a gamepad.

    • Very good to know about Ctrl-Y, thank you :) I’ll add that to the post!

I’m pretty sure this game is exactly as fast as it’s supposed to be – the pacing feels VERY deliberate here.

  5. The mirror doesn’t seem to work for me (Cannot open executable file !) perhaps for the same reason the filenames are gibberish. Anyone have any clue?
